GaAs compound semiconductors have found
broad application in electronic devices, particularly transmitting
and receiving units such as mobile phones, wireless LAN equipment,
switching devices and high electron mobility transistors used
in satellite broadcasting.
GaAs compound semiconductors are also widely used in optical devices as the substrate for pick up
laser diodes CD/DVD players and LEDs for HD television and electronic signboards. Hitachi Cable
GaAs semiconductor is also utilized in automotive lighting for its superior light emission characteristics.
